Northfield Schools

Teachers don’t teach here. They strive to make sure students are “compliant” to the teachers way of “wanting” things done. They do not seem to be to worried about the “subject” they are teaching as they are about how it is done, format, when it is turned in, the penalty for turning it in late. Not did the student understand it? Nope. Does the student need help? Nope. So what happened to teaching? Why should parents have to spend so much time making sure teachers are teaching? Why should we be constantly faced with the threat of budget cuts and the school system asking for more money when we are not getting our monies worth as it is? As the school system seems to have no accountability, our society does not either. It appears that the school system is producing students that do not accept responsibility nor feel the need to be held accountable.
I send my kids to school to learn how to read, write, add and subtract. History, the sciences. I want them to “learn” each subject and be able to prove their knowledge on each subject. I do not want to have them worrying about turning it in late and getting “nothing” for their hard work. Them panicking to complete a half-assed assignment. Then not understanding it. But so far our experiences with Northfield Public Schools and it’s “teachers” have shown us that. I mean who gives a flippin grade to turn in a box of KLEENEX? Northfield does.
Do they have their priorities right? From my view, nope.
