In the Emergency Room.
Darlink wife woke me up at Oh So Dark and Early(0400) with the wonderful sounds of “emesis” (puking fan boys!) so I got up and checked her out.
Pulse low 43!!!
Skin cool, slightly clammy.
Abdomen tender painfull
Did not want to go to MD. Wanted to sleep.
So she laid on the couch and I went back to bed, finally got up around Oh Kinda Light Early!(0530)
She felt awful and was pale, cool to touch.
I kept checking her and around 1030 pulled the BP cuff out….hmmm 88/43 !!! WTH? Pulse 48!! Okay we is going to ER and got no arguments.
Got in and started the process.
A little better then at home. But not a lot!!
Followed by blood tests, IVs, my Darlink can be a bit difficult in the IV start area – took a couple of attempts, as did the multiple blood draws. 2 liters plus of fluids. EKG (after my “prompting” that maybe it was cardiac? Just saying) Chest Xray etc.
She got a shot of anti nausea med and toradol for discomfort.
Everything looked fine. Then as we were getting ready to be discharged, I notice she was “squirming” and admitted to discomfort. Did not want to say anything, but I made her. She was then taken in for a CAT scan and given more anti nausea neds.
Finally we were cleared to go home.
So improvement noted and we were out of there!
Wife resting comfortably. A little discomfort. Tummy tender.
