November 16, 2011Dear Mr. Madd:
Thank you for contacting me to share your opposition to the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act (H.R. 822). I appreciate learning of your views.
I am a strong supporter of Second Amendment rights. As a retired Marine and avid outdoorsman, I am an experienced firearms owner and user and believe individuals should have the right to keep and bear arms for the protection of one’s home, property, family, and person. I am especially proud of my “A” rating from the National Rifle Association and will do all I can to protect Second Amendment rights.
As you may know, I am a cosponsor of H.R. 822, which has been referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary. Let me reassure you this legislation does not interfere with each individual state’s gun permitting process, nor would it require states to create a new permitting process. It simply allows a person who has a valid permit to carry a concealed firearm in their home state to carry a concealed firearm in another state in accordance with the restrictions of that second state. I have attached a copy of the legislation for your examination.
I will continue to support all efforts to secure a person’s right to own firearms and encourage gun owners to engage in gun safety and responsible firearm practices.
Thank you again for contacting me. Please feel free to do so again regarding any issue of importance to you.
Sincerely,
JOHN KLINE
Member of Congress
Dear Mr. Kline,
I suppose you will be more than happy to allow ANY idiot, convicted felon, or terrorist, to carry ANY gun he or she wants across state lines. I guess ANY convicted felon or terrorist should also be allowed to carry a loaded gun onto an airplane, or a train…..or in the Halls of Congress.
Are you NUTS????? “B. Hussein Obama”?????? You ARE NUTS
Remind me why I am FORCED to contribute to your big, fat salary.
