Minnesota Governor Signs Important Pro-Hunting Legislation into Law

Yesterday, Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton (D) signed House File 2171, the 2012 Game and Fish Omnibus Bill.  This legislation includes Minnesota’s first regulated wolf hunting and trapping season, as well as provisions allowing youth firearm education and safety courses at specified publicly-owned or managed firearm ranges.

Anti-hunting opposition strongly urged Governor Dayton to oppose and veto this important legislation.  However, Governor Dayton resisted and decided to support Minnesota’s long-standing tradition of hunting based on science, not emotion and politics.

Thank you to all state Senators and Representatives who voted for HF 2171 and to all of the NRA members who contacted their legislators.
