Dear Mr. MaddMedic:

Knowing of your support for our constitutional right to keep and bear arms, I would like to update you about congressional action underway to investigate the “Fast and Furious” operation and the individuals involved.

As you may know, the controversial “Fast and Furious” operation administered by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, allowed federally issued guns to fall into the hands of violent criminals. Congressman Darrell Issa, Chairman of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, recently released a report outlining the Justice Department‘s failure to cooperate in the investigation, and the Justice Department’s retaliation against agents who blew the whistle on the operation. You can read the full report by clicking here.

I was appalled to learn of this operation and the failure of leadership by Attorney General Eric Holder. Accordingly, I am a proud cosponsor of a resolution (H.Res 490) expressing no confidence in Attorney General Holder’s performance. I look forward to voting for this resolution when it is considered by the House of Representatives.

As I continue to serve you in Congress I will remain a steadfast defender of your Second Amendment rights. To receive additional updates on legislative activity and my efforts of your behalf in Congress, please visit my website at kline.house.gov/issues.

Sincerely,

JOHN KLINE
Member of Congress
