Handgun Permits on the Rise in Northfield, Rice County
It is.
And this is not quite right..
Under Minnesota state law, a person interested in owning a handgun must first apply for a permit to purchase a handgun from his or her local law enforcement agency. If a person lives in an unincorporated area, the local sheriff is responsible for processing requests.
If you have your permit to carry. You do not need a permit to purchase, so you avoid having to go through the Police to buy and then the Sheriff to carry. I have purchased a “few” handguns with my carry Permit.
And as Minnesota is now a shall issue state, with the Sheriff issuing, it is a much better thing then relying on an unelected official, Police Chief, to say yes or no to your Constitutional Rights..
(That is the 2nd Amendment by the way!
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.)
And the thing about Minnesota’s Permit to Carry law..is a person can open carry if they so desire…and I am tempted to do so…Maybe an Open Carry Day in Northfield…
Also State wide Permits to Carry have been steadily increasing and gun sales overall have increased with Sturm, Ruger actually stopping orders to catch up with demand.
Yep, Obama, the Anti Freedom crowd and the Dems…(all the same if you think about it) all doing a great job selling guns..
