No matter the outcome of this upcoming Presidential election, we must protect our Second Amendment Rights. If Obama does not feel like he will be victorious come November he could try to slip something through Congress on his way out. If he does get re-elected he will hold nothing back since it would be his final term; therefore, he would try to pursue all of his terrifying dreams. Earlier in 2012 you helped us earn a victory against the Obama Administration and the United Nations by blocking their proposed UN Arms Trade Treaty which would have given the U.N power to regulate our Second Amendment Right to bear arms. Twenty three Senators have come together to sponsor bill S.2205 called the ‘Second Amendment Sovereignty Act of 2012′ which will continue to protect our right to bear arms into the future. Among the supporting Senators are Jerry Moran, Paul Rand, and Marco Rubio.

Here is a summary of the proposed Sovereignty Act:

“Second Amendment Sovereignty Act of 2012 – Expresses the sense of Congress that U.S. sovereignty and the constitutionally protected freedoms of American gun owners must be upheld and not be undermined by a United Nations Arms Trade Treaty. Prohibits funds from being obligated or expended to use U.S. influence, in connection with negotiations for a United Nations Arms Trade Treaty, to restrict the rights of U.S. citizens under the second amendment to the Constitution, or to otherwise regulate domestic manufacture, assembly, possession, use, transfer, or purchase of firearms, ammunition, or related items.”

If passed, this Act would protect us against future Arms Trade Treaty proposals or anything else the U.N may draw up to infringe upon our right to bear arms. Even if Romney is elected as President of these great United States it will still be positive to have such an Act in place. As they always say, it is better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. This Act gives American gun owners complete protection against the United Nations coving everything from manufacture, possession, and ammunition.

It is imperative we push the Senate to pass legislation such as the Second Amendment Sovereignty Act of 2012. We are currently in a very uneasy time in our Country but with Bills such as this being passed it will help us to sleep a little easier at night. With this Act passed it would be one less thing for us to worry about and for gun owners our guns are extremely important to us.

With Acts such as this one in place we will not have to worry about where we will bury our weapons when the Government comes to confiscate them. We will not have to worry about possessing an illegal amount of ammunition. We will not have to worry about possessing an outlawed caliber weapon. This proposed Bill is only positive; tell the Senate to push it forward.
