Is It Any Wonder?

Subject: Senate Gun Control Bill

Read this very carefully….

The “most popular” part of the proposed Senate gun control bill (background checks) sounds like a good idea at first but is more restrictive than anyone anticipated and will have significant unintended consequences.

There is a huge push to get it through Congress before the public has a chance to consider its contents.

Common activities that we take for granted will become federal crimes. These are not irresponsible exaggerations. Please take a moment to review the requirements of the bill.

Here are a few examples of the restrictions in the bill:

EXAMPLE #1
Loaning your buddy a shotgun for a duck hunting trip will be considered a transfer. If the following requirements are not met, YOU HAVE BOTH COMMITTED A FEDERAL CRIME.

1. He must have already purchased his hunting license
2. Season is already open (and will not close before he returns it)
3. He cannot travel with the firearm through a county where season is not yet open or any area where hunting is prohibited and certainly not across a state line.

He CANNOT stop by your house on the day before season opens, pick up the shot gun, go to the sporting goods store to buy a license and shells then drive out to the hunting lease. In this scenario, YOU BOTH WOULD HAVE COMMITTED MULTIPLE FEDERAL CRIMES, YOUR WEAPONS WILL BE FORFEITED AND YOU WILL LOOSE YOUR RIGHT TO BUY OR OWN A FIREARM.

EXAMPLE #2
It appears that only you may relocate your weapons. If your weapon leaves your home without you, the new legislation considers it a transfer of possession. ALL transfers require going through a firearms dealer, paying the transfer fee and a background check for the transferee.

Putting the weapon, even temporarily in someone else’s possession, requires a transfer through a dealer. There is no exception for putting them in a friend’s truck while moving to your new house or packing them unloaded, locked in a gunsafe into a moving truck.

Any scenario in which your weapon leaves your home without you is considered a transfer. Failure to properly transfer the weapon is a federal crime which can result in a prison term AND WILL RESULT IN THE FORFEITURE OF YOUR WEAPON.

In the scenario above, your buddy’s truck was used to commit a federal crime and WILL BE CONFISCATED just like with current Fish and Game violations.

EXAMPLE #3

Infractions as above which involve 2 guns of any type are considered weapons trafficking. You will be prosecuted under the same federal laws as a terrorist arms dealer.

EXAMPLE #4

Any of the infractions above (or hundreds of other routine scenarios) may result in federal charges, confiscation of ALL your weapons and being prohibited, like all felons, from ever owning a weapon again.

Please read the text of the bill yourself. Most of it is boring legalese but the sections on transfers and trafficking are critical.

Take a minute to think about all the routine activities like those above that will make you a federal criminal and result in prison time plus the confiscation of your weapons and other property.

A link to the bill is included below on the official Senate website. See Section 122 “Firearms Transfers”.

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c113:S.649:

Read it and call your congressman’s office. Talk to their staff. Tell them how you feel about this.

Keep in mind, none of the above would have stopped the tragedy’s in Columbine or Newtown. The proposed law makes you a criminal and opens the door for confiscation of your weapons and property for otherwise routine activities.

Think and act. Congress is hoping that you will do neither.

If you found the patience to read the entire text, you also learned that exactly $100 million per year of your tax money is set aside to enforce these restrictions.

Village Idiots

Focusing on the wrong problems: “While America has been fixated on the threat of Islamic terrorism for more than a decade, all but a few domestic terror plots have failed. Between September 11, 2001, and the end of 2012, there were no successful bomb plots by jihadist terrorists in the United States. Jihadists killed 17 people in the United States in four separate incidents during this time, according to data collected by journalist Peter Bergen and the New America Foundation. All four of these incidents involved guns, including Nidal Hassan‘s shooting rampage at Fort Hood, which killed 13 people. In contrast, right-wing extremists killed 29 people during those 11 years.” –Mother Jones’ Dave Gilson

Gun grabbers: “I mean, if we could get guns under control, if we could get rid of them, I’m with all of that. … Of course I want to get rid of guns.” –actor Tracy Morgan

Taking Joe Biden’s advice: “If you live in a city and you think you need protection of your home, you’re way better off with a shotgun than an assault weapon. Trust me. It’s not even close.” –Bill Clinton

Amnesty: “Creating a pathway to earned citizenship for the 11 million unauthorized immigrants in this country is absolutely essential. The way we treat our friends and neighbors who are undocumented — by creating a mechanism for them to earn citizenship and to move out of the shadows — transcends the issue of immigration status. This is a matter of civil and human rights.” –Attorney General Eric Holder

And unfortunately it just adds to the stigma that women feel when they hear all of these things about heart beat, sex selection, genetic abnormality. You know, abortion is very common and the stigma is disgusting.” –North Dakota abortion-clinic director Tammi Kromenaker

IF YOU ARE GAY AND IN THE U.S. MILITARY, YOU ARE FREE TO EXPRESS YOURSELF. IF YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN AND EXPRESS YOUR FAITH IN THE U.S. MILITARY YOU MAY BE PROSECUTED UNDER FEDERAL MILITARY LAW.

Punishment for this new “crime” may include imprisonment and being dishonorably discharged from the military.
Let the religious persecution begin….

The Pentagon has released a statement confirming that soldiers could be prosecuted for promoting their faith: “Religious proselytization is not permitted within the Department of Defense…Court martials and non-judicial punishments are decided on a case-by-case basis…”.

The statement, released to Fox News, follows a Breitbart News report on Obama administration Pentagon appointees meeting with anti-Christian extremist Mikey Weinstein to develop court-martial procedures to punish Christians in the military who express or share their faith.

(From our earlier report: Weinstein is the head of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, and says Christians–including chaplains–sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in the military are guilty of “treason,” and of committing an act of “spiritual rape” as serious a crime as “sexual assault.” He also asserted that Christians sharing their faith in the military are “enemies of the Constitution.”)

Being convicted in a court martial means that a soldier has committed a crime under federal military law. Punishment for a court martial can include imprisonment and being dishonorably discharged from the military.

So President Barack Obama’s civilian appointees who lead the Pentagon are confirming that the military will make it a crime–possibly resulting in imprisonment–for those in uniform to share their faith. This would include chaplains—military officers who are ordained clergymen of their faith (mostly Christian pastors or priests, or Jewish rabbis)–whose duty since the founding of the U.S. military under George Washington is to teach their faith and minister to the spiritual needs of troops who come to them for counsel, instruction, or comfort.

Taxes!

If a man earned a monthly income of $7,000 per month and earned an additional $5,000 on investments, his total monthly income would be $12,000. If he had set up a budget based upon his $7,000 monthly salary, he would have a monthly surplus of $5,000. If he spent $8,000 in a month he would have a $1,000 deficit. The obvious solution would be to make up the shortfall by withdrawing $1,000 from his accumulated assets. When the Federal Government establishes their budget based upon their anticipated income generated from taxes. They do not include the amount of money they anticipate that they will earn on their invested assets. The Federal Government collected 2.5 trillion dollars in taxes but earned another 5 trillion dollars on their invested assets. The total money available to run the country would be 7.5 trillion dollars. If the government were to spend 3.8 trillion dollars, we would have a surplus of 3.7 trillion dollars. By using their creative accounting system, Congress claims to have spent 3.8 trillion dollars and only collected 2.5 trillion in taxes. They want us to believe that “We the People” have a 1.3 trillion dollar deficit. Rather than tapping the accumulated reserves, Congress wants to raise our taxes and/or reduce the services provided by the government. If no taxes were collected by the Federal Government, they would still be earning more than enough money to finance the government. Can you imagine what would happen to our economy if the Income Tax were to be eliminated.

The Toomey-Manchin Proposal Will Allow Doctors to Block Your Right to Guns

The proposal will allow a doctor to add a patient to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) without ever telling the patient he or she has been added.

There would be no due process requirement. Not all doctors will be able to do it with the same ease, but many will. Knowing a doctor could add him to a federal database as mentally ill without his knowledge could potentially dissuade a patient from going to the doctor in the first place to get help.

Worse, if the doctor does so and makes a mistake, the patient would have to actively work through the system to get himself removed — guilty before being proven innocent. In some states, should a doctor flag you as having mental illness without your knowledge, you may very well see the state come collect your previously purchased guns.

Activist mental health providers will probably be overly aggressive in adding people to the list. Give it five years in liberal areas and people who believe in the physical resurrection of Christ will probably get automatic entry onto the list.

Charley Reese

This should be on the front page of every newspaper.

Charley Reese‘s final column for the Orlando Sentinel… He has been a journalist for 49 years. He is retiring and this is HIS LAST COLUMN.

This is about as clear and easy to understand as it can be. The article below is completely neutral, neither anti-republican or democrat. Charlie Reese, a retired reporter for the Orlando Sentinel, has hit the nail directly on the head, defining clearly who it is that in the final analysis must assume responsibility for the judgments made that impact each one of us every day. It’s a short but good read. Worth the time. Worth remembering!

545 vs. 300,000,000 People
-By Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The President does.

You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a President to do one cotton-picking thing. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits.. ( The President can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.)

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House?( John Boehner. He is the leader of the majority party. He and fellow House members, not the President, can approve any budget they want. ) If the President vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to. [The House has passed a budget but the Senate has not approved a
budget in over three years. The President's proposed budgets have gotten
almost unanimous rejections in the Senate in that time. ]

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted — by present facts — of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can’t think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red.

If the Army & Marines are in Iraq and Afghanistan it’s because they want them in Iraq and Afghanistan ..

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it’s because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power.
Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like “the economy,” “inflation,” or “politics” that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible. They, and they alone, have the power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses. Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees… We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

Charlie Reese is a former columnist of the Orlando Sentinel Newspaper.

Is Congress Really ‘Fixable’?

This is one idea that really should be passed around

*Congressional Reform Act of 2013

1. No Tenure / No Pension.

A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they’re out of office.

2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.

All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 12/31/13. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women.

Congressmen/women made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

If each person contacts a minimum of twenty people then it will only take three days for most people (in the U.S. ) to receive the message. Don’t you think it’s time?

THIS IS HOW YOU FIX CONGRESS!

Schooled! Refused! Police State! Scarce! Gun Free. Unfortunate? CCW! Colion Noir!

“Is the power who is jealous of our prosperity, a proper power to govern us? Whoever says No, to this question, is an Independant for independency means no more than this, whether we shall make our own laws, or, whether the King, the greatest enemy this continent hath, or can have, shall tell us there shall be no laws but such as I like.”

Obama goes to a school to talk to the kids and to get a little PR.

After his talk he offers question time. One little boy puts up his hand and Obama asks him his name.

“Stanley,” responds the boy.

“And what is your question, Stanley?”

“I have 4 questions: First, why did you go to bed the night of the Benghazi raid and only talk to your cabinet one time when you KNEW Americans lives were on the line? Second, why are you President when we still have no clue where you were born? Third, what REALLY happened to all of the money you gave to green energy corporations that are now bankrupt? Fourth, if I don’t do my homework I get punished … why haven’t you submitted a budget to Congress when the LAW says you were supposed to submit one by the first Monday in February?

Just then, the bell rings for recess. Obama informs the kiddies that they will continue after recess.

When they resume Obama says, “OK, now … where were we? Oh, that ‘s right: question time. Who has a question?”

Another little boy puts up his hand. Obama points him out and asks him his name.

“Steve,” he responds.

“And what is your question,Steve?”

Actually, I have 6 questions. First, why did you go to bed the night of the Benghazi raid and only talk to your cabinet one time when you KNEW Americans lives were on the line? Second, why are you President when we still have no clue where you were born? Third, what REALLY happened to all of the money you gave to green energy corporations that are now bankrupt? Fourth, if I don’t do my homework I get punished … why haven’t you submitted a budget to Congress when the LAW says you were supposed to submit one by the first Monday in February? Fifth, why did the recess bell go off 20 minutes early? And sixth, what the heck happened to Stanley?”

Police State…

NEW JERSEY — After seeing a picture of a child holding a firearm, police and NJ’s Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS) showed up at a man’s house, demanding that they let them inside where they can see the contents of his safe. They wanted to see if he owns any firearms and wanted to check if they are registered. Fortunately the man stood his ground and refused the warrantless searches. Gun registration is an offensive concept. If you truly believe we live in a current/developing police state, why in the hell would you want the government to know what you are armed with? Registration is a necessary step before confiscation. It is absolutely NONE NONE NONE NONE of the government’s business what you own. New Jersey is on the forefront of the police state. Most states, mine included, have no such thing as a registry of guns. And we need to fight to keep it that way. It annoys me how widespread this misconception is (thanks to Hollywood).

Ban Gun Free Zones

What is one thing mass shootings have in common? They happen in gun free zones. One of the most well-known gun free zones are post offices, and because violence there is so common, we even have the term “going postal” for outbreaks of violence. However, many would-be mass killers have been stopped because there was an armed citizen. Examples include the ’97 Pearl High School shooting (assistant principle had a .45, no shot necessary), the ’07 New Life Church shooting (Security Guard, shot gunman, saved many lives), and the recent Portland Mall shooting (Armed Citizen, no shot necessary).

Gun Grabbers on the Move

Four pieces of civilian disarmament legislation made it to the Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday. While Sen. Dianne Feinstein‘s (D-CA) “assault weapons” ban was included in the final package, it faces tough odds of getting anywhere in Congress. Democrats instead chose a piecemeal approach, the reasons being twofold: It increases the likelihood that something gets passed, and if a major overhaul fails, Republicans will face the backlash when Democrats cry wolf.

One of the bills being considered is a bipartisan proposal “that would for the first time create specific federal prohibitions on gun trafficking and the straw purchasing of firearms,” according to the Associated Press. Recall that these were the same tactics used by the ATF in the infamously (and tragically) botched Fast and Furious sting operation. We’re glad to see Congress agrees that the feds shouldn’t be trafficking firearms to Mexico.

In related news, “States with the most gun control laws have the fewest gun-related deaths,” trumpeted the Associated Press this week, citing a study by Dr. Eric Fleegler of Boston and published in JAMA Internal Medicine. However, Fleegler is an anti-gun activist and used data from the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, one of the most anti-gun organizations in the country. Also, though he considered all 50 states, he excluded the District of Columbia. The Brady Center did their own calculations based on findings in a dozen states and came to the conclusion that — surprise — we need more gun control. The inconvenient truth is that the “gun-related deaths” prevented by tougher gun laws are suicides, not homicides. In fact, the homicide rate was slightly higher in the 10 states with the most regulation. DC’s rate is nearly four times that of the rest of the country.

The Brady Center wasn’t the only leftist group promoted by the press either. USA Today placed a piece on an anti-gun study by the Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation (PIRE) front-and-center of Tuesday’s edition. PIRE’s study purports to show that gun violence cost $12 billion annually. Not surprisingly, financial help is given to the institute through a company tied to none other than far-left billionaire investor George Soros.

Kids, dont do drugs.. or you will end up like this idiotWhen Miami’s Penelope Soto was arrested for possession of controlled substance on Monday, she had to face Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Jorge Rodriguez-Chomat. And as she soon found out, his honor doesn’t take kindly to being disrespected. After Rodriguez-Chomat set Soto’s bond at $10,000, she became upset. She let loose a “fu** you” and flipped him the middle finger as she walked away. That’s when Rodriguez-Chomat called her back and asked what she said. And that’s also when he laid down the law. WSVN-TV has the exchange:Judge: “You said [expletive] me?”
Soto: “Yes, sir, I did.”
The judge then laid down the law for being in contempt of court.
Judge: “You did say that? I find you in direct criminal contempt. Thirty days in the county jail.”
Soto: “OK, that’s fine.”
That’s right: 30 days in jail. But the transcript doesn’t capture the entire series of events.See, the hearing started off with Soto stroking her hair, laughing, and even borderline flirting with the judge. After he sets the initial bond at $5k, she still strolls away laughing and says “adios,” which could have been a shot at Rodriguez-Chomat’s heavy Hispanic accent. Not taking kindly to that, the judge calls Soto back and then ups the bond to $10k. That’s when Soto walks away and delivers the curse word and finger gesture:

But the transcript doesn’t capture the entire series of events.</p><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /> <p>See, the hearing started off with Soto stroking her hair, laughing, and even borderline flirting with the judge. After he sets the initial bond at $5k, she still strolls away laughing and says “adios,” which could have been a shot at Rodriguez-Chomat’s heavy Hispanic accent. Not taking kindly to that, the judge calls Soto back and then ups the bond to $10k. That’s when Soto walks away and delivers the curse word and finger gesture:</p><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /> <p>http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/02/05/fu-you-shocked-woman-flips-off-judge-in-court-after-hearing-bond-amount-judge-responds-in-amazing-way/

Is the Department of Homeland Security Obama’s Gestapo?

When Adolf Hitler made his rise to power, he established the Secret State Police in 1934, headed by Heinrich Himmler.  The German name for them is Geheime Staatspolizei.  Taking the bolded and underlined letters from the newly formed entity you get the more familiar term, Gestapo.

The role of the Gestapo was to spy on the German people and identify any and all opposition to Hitler’s Third Reich.  They were given full authority to investigate and report or suspect cases of criminal attacks against the Nazi Party along with cases of sabotage, espionage and treason.  What made them so deadly and sinister was that they were also given authority to act without any judicial oversight.  They became the prosecutor, judge, jury and executioner of anyone that stood in Hitler’s way.

California School District Purchases Assault Rifles to Defend Students

In the months prior to the Sandy Hook shooting, school officials and school police in Fontana, California met to discuss how to best protect their students.  They weighed many issues and finally came to the decision to purchase 14 Colt LE6940 rifles.  The rifles were finally delivered to the schools in early December, one week prior to Sandy Hook.

Feinstein’s Shot Heard ‘Round the World

A troop of utterly shameless stage actors and demo-gogues took to the microphone Thursday to assist Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) in announcing “The Assault Weapons Ban of 2013.” These petty NeoCom tyrants tugged at the heartstrings of the nation by once again stacking up the coffins of children as their platform to call for the disarmament of law-abiding citizens.

“If 20 dead children in Newtown wasn’t a wakeup call that these weapons of war don’t belong on our streets, I don’t know what is,” Feinstein thundered. Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) tearfully named all 20 children. But as emotional as that appeal is, the issue isn’t about those kids. It’s about the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution — which is about the preservation of Liberty.

What Did President Buck Ofama Really Say in His Second Inaugural Address?

Members of Congress should have paid attention this week. The President was very clear that he sees no urgency about reducing the debt and cutting the deficit. In fact, in his second inaugural address, President Barack Obama was honest about his intentions to grow government in order to remake our country along his progressive vision. Read More…

Appeals court panel rules Buck Ofama recess appointments to labor board are unconstitutional

Well we know what Buck Ofama thinks of that ‘flawed’ document…..

The three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuitsaid Obama did not have the power to make three recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board because the Senate was officially in session — and not in recess — at the time. If the decision stands, it could invalidate hundreds of board decisions made over the past year.

Behind the Curtain: What Do We Fear? Behind the Curtain: What Do We Fear?

Why are the majority of Americans, and maybe even you, so easily fooled into thinking there is a Wizard of Oz, when we already greatly suspect or know the real power is… those behind the curtain? Why do we target [...] … READ MORE

The BIG Lies and ‘Braying Jackasses’

“Today we are introducing legislation that will help end the mass shootings that have devastated countless families and terrorized communities. … [O]ur weak gun laws allow these mass killings to be carried out again, and again, and again in this country. … No weapon is taken from anyone. The purpose is to dry up the supply of these weapons over time, therefore, there is no sunset on this bill. … We must balance the desire of a few to own military-style assault weapons with the growing threat to lives across America.” –Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA)

“Senator Lautenberg and I have reintroduced the bill to ban high-capacity ammunition magazines because they’re the common thread in every major mass shooting in recent history and taking them off the market can have a major impact on saving lives in America. The horrific murders in Newtown have shown how our nation’s lax attitude towards gun violence has gone too far and we must take action to save lives.” –Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY)

“This just isn’t a matter of an issue of the Constitution, it’s an issue of conscience, an issue of conscience.” –Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL)

“Kids would be alive today in Newtown, Connecticut, if the law that we’re proposing today were in place on December 14th of last year. It’s as simple as that.” –Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT)

“[T]here’s no right to use 100 round clips in assault rifles.” –Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY)

“The latest tragedy in Newtown was a wake up call for our nation, and now we must now turn our grief into action to reduce further tragedies. It is clearer than ever that there is no place in our communities for military-style super-sized magazines like those used inside Sandy Hook Elementary School, in Aurora, and in Tucson, and I will keep working to reinstate the ban on them.” –Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ)

“I believe that the gun lobby is no match for the cross lobby. … [B]less our elected leaders with the wisdom and the courage needed to bring about the changes that the people demand.” –Dean of the National Cathedral Rev. Canon Gary Hall, who prayed before the circus

“A shotgun will keep you a lot safer … than an assault weapon in somebody’s hands who doesn’t know how to use it — even one who does know how to use it. … So you want to keep people away in an earthquake? Buy some shotgun shells.” –Joe Biden, who clearly thinks the Framers gave us the Second Amendment to discourage looting
