Washington, DC --(Ammoland.com)- As a Second Amendment organization representing 375,000 members, we are writing to express our concern over Health And Human Services’ (HHS) proposed rule that was printed in the April 23rd, 2013 issue of the Federal Register.

These regulations would, by executive fiat, waive all federal privacy laws and encourage doctors to report their patients to the FBI.

Please understand a couple of things:  First, the standard which a doctor would use to turn in a patient is embodied in Clinton-era ATF language and in the anti-gun Veterans Disarmament Act of 2007.

Specifically, a doctor would report a patient if he suspected he or she was even a slight “danger to himself of others” or was “unable to manage his financial affairs.”

There are times when evil must be confronted. When God judges a situation He often uses His servants as vessels for communicating to the guilty party. Such was the case with David who tried to conceal his sin of sleeping with Bathsheba and then orchestrating a cover-up plot that led to her husband being intentionally setup to be killed on the battlefield. It was a wicked deed that became the most significant black mark upon David’s life.

There are times in the workplace where God may want to use you to be the instrument of God to bring righteousness to a situation. Sherron Watkins was a finance president at Enron, the now famous Houston-based energy company that went bankrupt because of financial fraud by top level executives. By the summer of 2001, Sherron had become suspicious of her company’s accounting practices.

Watkins struggled with what she was to do when she discovered what was going on. She thought she might lose her job if she confronted other top level managers. Yet, if she did not do something, it could impact the entire company and its employees. Sherron was a Christian and knew God was calling her to do something.

At first, she decided to use constructive ways to bring the problem to her superiors. Eventually, she met with CEO, Kenneth Lay and outlined the elaborate accounting hoax that she believed was going on in the company. She was ignored. Months later the company collapsed when the problems came to light and Lay was convicted on 10 counts of conspiracy.

Sherron Watkins served as a modern-day Esther in the corporate world to expose a scandal that would destroy a company. She was recognized as Time Magazine’s “Person of the Year” in 2002 for her role in exposing the scandal.

Are you willing to be the instrument of God, if necessary, to expose unrighteousness?

“Be still and know that I am God“ (Psalm 46:10) .

Do you find yourself in a place of nothingness? There is a time and place in our walk with God in which He sets us in a place of isolation and waiting. It is a place in which all past experiences are of no value. It is a time of such stillness that it can disturb the most faithful if we do not understand that He is the one who has brought us to this place for only a season. It is as if God has placed a wall around us. No new opportunities – simply inactivity.

During these times, God is calling us aside to fashion something new in us. It is a place of nothingness designed to call us to deeper roots of prayer and faith. It is not a comfortable place, especially for a task-driven workplace believer. Our nature cries out, “You must do something” while God is saying, “Be still and know that I am God.” You know the signs that you have been brought into this place when He has removed many things from your life and you can’t seem to change anything. Perhaps you are unemployed. Perhaps you are laid up with an illness.

Many people live a very planned and orchestrated life where they know almost everything that will happen. But for people in whom God is performing a deeper work, He brings them into a time of quietness that seems almost eerie. They cannot see what God is doing. They just know that He is doing a work that cannot be explained to themselves or to others.

Broke through the guardrail, on the right side of the culvert,
Where the people are standing on the road, pointing….

The pick-up was traveling about 75 mph from right to left
When it crashed through the guardrail.

It flipped end-over-end bounced off and across the culvert outlet,
And landed right side up on the left side of the culvert,
Facing the opposite direction from which the driver was traveling..

The 22-year-old driver and his 18-year-old passenger
Were unhurt except for minor cuts and bruises.

An Open Letter: Dear Smith and or Wesson

I brought the gun home and gingerly set it on my kitchen table with a box of ammunition. Refreshed and relaxed, I went to sleep, anxious to see what the morning would bring. I woke up in the morning with a calm that I had not felt since my neighbor had moved in. I rushed down the stairs like a child at Christmas, gnashing my teeth joyously at what wonders awaited me downstairs. However, like a child at Christmas, I quickly realized my wishes had not been granted. There on the table was my gun, exactly where I had left it.  Distraught, I looked outside to see my neighbor, cheerfully playing with his children in the yard. Not only had the gun failed to kill my neighbor, but it did not seem to have moved an inch since I set it on the table. It had the entire night to itself, I figured it had to have done something in that time.

Intent to find answers, I inspected the gun’s packaging, and after peering through the first few pages, felt a wave of relief wash over me. I realized I had only bought a semi-automatic assault handgun, not an automatic one. I would have to manually load it with ammunition if I wanted it to kill my neighbor, this model could not do that on it’s own. So I loaded the gun, pointed the gun west towards my neighbor’s house, and even whispered, “Please kill my neighbor” into it’s cold metal trigger to facilitate it’s sordid task as much as I could while still keeping my hands clean. I set off to work assured and confident that my neighbor’s anarchic rein over the neighborhood would soon end.
