Gun Control Isn’t Just About the Guns

No it is not…It is about control..

Obama losing his gun control campaign

New polling from Washington Post-ABC News and Pew find that President Obama’s campaign to repress the Second Amendment right “keep and bear arms” is faltering.

On January 22, 2013, Pew released polling results that found the public followed news about Obama’s gun control proposals closely and the reaction is mixed. Only 39 percent think Obama’s proposals are about right, while 31 percent think the proposals go too far. Or, as Politico put it, “39 percent back Obama gun plan.”

Of course there is the usual partisan divide. A 57 percent majority of Republicans say the proposals go too far, and 25 percent say they are about right. A 55 percent majority of Democrats (55%) say the proposals s are about right, and 10 percent  say they go too far. Independents are more evenly divided — 36 percent say the proposals are about right, while 33 percent say they go too far.  . . . please click here for the rest of the post →

MO Lawmakers: Parents Must Notify Schools Of Gun Ownership In 30 Days

Here we go. Missouri Statelawmakers see dollar signs in their eyes and they are using the school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut to push for legislation that would require parents in the state to notify the schools their children that they own a firearm within 30 days or face a fine.

How to pull a major Oops…And Reed pulled a major Ooops…

The Event Not Held…….

Yesterday, Reed Exhibitions announced it was “postponing” the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show. Originally scheduled to begin on February 2 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the nine day show is the country’s largest outdoor show, and regularly attracts as many as 200,000 outdoor enthusiasts. It also puts an estimated $44 million in direct revenues into the region’s economy. Some hoteliers and restaurants say this decision will “make for a very long winter” in their area. Many of the more than 1,000 exhibitors come from out of the region and provide a huge boost to a slow season during the nine-day event. Reed kicked off a controversy when managers announced their decision not to allow any presence of the AR-rifle platform at the Eastern Show. That prohibition even extended to images of the rifle used to solicit raffle ticket sales. In other words, the AR (initially, they called it an “assault rifle”) was a non-starter at what Reed considered a pure hunting and fishing show.

Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, is an ardent defender of the Second Amendment and a member of the House Judiciary Committee. He told WND the latest gun-control push from Democrats was totally, and sadly, predictable.

“The people that have stepped forward on this are the gun grabbers. They are the anti-Second Amendment crowd. They are the opportunists that showed up the morning after the terrible tragedy at Sandy Hook,” said King. “So the president is following Rahm Emanuel’s directive. It’s a crisis that he doesn’t want to let go to waste.”

King rejects all of the main Obama priorities on guns and took special aim at the effort to reduce magazine capacity.

“If you’re going to reduce the number of rounds in a clip, where is the constitutional stop for that? Do you do it at 10 rounds? Seven rounds? Six, five, four, one? Or do you just say everything has to be a single shot?” asked King. “When you go down this incremental encroachment upon our Second Amendment rights, I think they probably would not stop at machetes. But that’s the direction they want to go.”

BANK RUN: $114 Billion Withdrawn From Big US Banks

More Gun Ban Bills..

Along with Feinstein scheming to get things passed in the Senate there are anti-gun democrats proposing similar bills in the House:

  • H.R. 138 would ban transfer or possession of standard-capacity magazines, targeting those that hold more than 10 rounds.
  • H.R. 142 would ban Internet or mail order ammunition purchases, require a federal license for all ammunition sellers and mandate reporting of “bulk” ammo purchases.
  • H.R. 21 would ban all private firearms transfers.
  • H.R. 34 & H.R. 117 are both gun registration bills overriding long standing protections of gun owner privacy.

This is more evidence that these anti-gunners do not care about the Second Amendment. They do not care about our Right to Bear Arms. They are not concerned with the nation’s hunters, sportsmen, or families trying to protect themselves.

The liberals go on TV to discuss gun control to complain that conservatives do not compromise and that “something is better than nothing.” They play the victim like they are just looking for minor gun control to prevent tragedies. They say they will never threaten the use of weapons used for hunting and personal protection. Then they propose something that is so extreme like Feinstein’s proposed ban; of course we would never cooperate or agree with this.

Gun Stuff and Stuff..To Wonder About…

Whats wrong with America? This:

Hundreds attend candlelight vigil for shot elk in city with notorious late-term abortion clinic

A vigil over an animal in a city that condones murdering babies…Shows me where the priorities are here…and it is not with life!!

And Obama wants to disarm America so we can be like…

2nd Amendment: Overthrowing a Tyrannical Government

Given all the gun talk lately, Mark Levin opened his show tonight clarifying the purpose of the 2nd amendment saying that it wasn’t for target shooting or hunting or anything else in that realm. He said that whether you like it or not or whether you agree with it or not, the reason why 2nd amendment exists is to arm the population in order to overthrow a tyrannical government. That’s it.

DailyKooks Second Amendment FAIL!

What you get when a few Statist, metrosexual twits get together and think. Which appears to be an oxymoron here..Because that have not, do not understand what Rights are and have no clue what protects those rights, is not the Government we have today!!

Judge: NYPD must halt suspicion-less Bronx stops

It isn’t enough for a police officer to have a non-specific suspicion or hunch about a person to perform a stop and frisk

No, it is a violation of our 4th Amendment Rights. Yet the TSA does it every day…as apparently Nanny Bloomberg’s Blackboots do also..

  The Real Gun Violence Problem

Piers Morgan has been in the news a lot lately with his interviews on gun control. He’s made it his cause of late. He interviewed my friend Larry Pratt a couple of weeks ago and really attacked Larry. The other night he interviewed that conspiracy crank Alex Jones and many conservatives and gun owners have lamented a perception that Alex Jones will become the face of gun owners.

The conversations have actually been fascinating. Piers Morgan isn’t the only one to engage in these, but he’s been one of the most prominent.

Unfortunately, the incident that set off all these discussions — the Newtown, CT tragedy — is causing policy makers and news figures to fixate on all the wrong things, or at least the things with the least amount of meaning.

The fact is the tragedy in Connecticut was terrible. But it is also not a common act. It is called a “random act of violence” because it is random.

After the shooting over the summer in Aurora, CO, the President and his team could have picked up the gun issue, but they chose not too because it is a political hot potato and hurts the Democrats. They are compensating in light of this new tragedy, but the discussed policy proposals thus far probably would do no good. Increasing gun free school zones and punishment for violating those zones will not stop a mass shooter.

Nonetheless, the policy makers want to focus on mass shooters and not every day shooters. They want to focus on rifles and not handguns. Rifles, interestingly enough, contribute to far fewer murders than knives, hands, feet, clubs, or hammers.

But the discussion will not move to handguns because handguns are pretty popular in this country. Many people own them — far more own them than own semi-automatic rifles. More so, handguns are used in vastly more crimes.

It is not, however, just handguns that must be discussed when discussing gun violence. This gets to why we cannot have a meaningful conversation in this country and never will. To do so will get you branded a racist.  . . . please click here for the rest of the post →

Why I own an AR-15.

I can assure you that vast majority of gun owners in America are overwhelmingly rational people, leading very normal lives, and do not believe that anyone should be deported for having opposing views.  So, I’m left with answering the question that I can answer.  Why do I, as an attorney, the husband of a beautiful pharmacist, and the proud father of three precious daughters, own an AR-15? . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
