“You got into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.” — Barack Obama
“I believe in keeping guns out of our inner cities, and that our leaders must say so in the face of the gun manufacturer’s lobby.” — Barack Obama
16) “White people shouldn’t be allowed to vote. It’s for the good of the country and for those who’re bitter for a reason and armed because they’re scared.” — Left-wing journalist Jonathan Valania

PA Big Labor Boss Bullies Job Creators
During a press conference in support of privatizing Pennsylvania’s liquor stores, Big Labor Boss Wendell W. Young, repeatedly shouted and interrupted speakers at the podium. Young, who received $287,386 in compensation last year, is the Local 1776 representative for United Food and Commercial Workers, which represents many of Pennsylvania’s liquor store employees.

The Land of the Not-So-Much-Free
The USA is not the least free country in the world. But it is becoming increasingly obvious to everyone that it isnít even close to being the most free country in the world that many Americans have always assumed it be …
Contact your senator. Ask him to oppose any motion to proceed
Here’s where we are on Obama’s gun control proposals:
Today, the Nut-Left Democrats on the Senate Judiciary voted to report the Feinstein gun ban –which could ban between 50% and 80% of guns and magazines in circulation today. It may not even get a majority in the Senate – much less the 60 votes needed to pass. And it is being pushed primarily to allow anti-gun Democrats from pro-gun states to pretend to be pro-gun.
Tuesday, the Judiciary Committee passed, by a 10-to-8 vote, the universal gun registry bill. Chief sponsor Chuck Schumer has been unable to achieve Republican support from anyone other than the anti-gun Illinois Republican Mark Kirk. Therefore, unless another Republican sells out at the last minute, we believe we can successfully filibuster this ill in the full Senate.
Tuesday, by a vote of 14-to-4, the Judiciary Committee also reported a Boxer bill that would increase, by $10 million, the funding for an existing school safety program. The money could be used for armed guards, as the NRA proposes, or it could be used for an anti-gun study. It is therefore neither inherently “pro-gun’ nor “anti-gun.” We have said we would oppose proceeding to Boxer if it is a vehicle for votes on other anti-gun measures – but that we would not object to its passage, without amendment, by “unanimous consent.”
This brings us to the central battlefield: Last week, the committee reported, by a vote of 11-to-7, the Veterans Gun Ban, S. 54. The lone GOP vote in favor came from Chuck Grassley, who indicated he would oppose the bill on the Senate floor unless it was improved from the committee-reported version.
As we see it, the chief strategic objective is now to keep gun control votes from coming to the Senate floor by opposing the “motion to proceed” to any bill which is going to be used as a vehicle for gun votes.
That would certainly mean that senators should oppose moving to proceed to universal gun registries or the Veterans Gun Ban. But it also means that we oppose moving to proceed to so-called non-controversial bills, such as Boxer, if those bills are being brought up as a vehicle for anti-gun amendments.
ACTION: Contact your senator. Ask him to oppose any motion to proceed – by filibuster if necessary – to the Feinstein gun ban, the universal gun registry bill, the Veterans Gun Ban (S. 54), or to any other piece of legislation being brought up as a vehicle for votes on these anti-gun proposals.

What some people call “assault weapons” function like every other normal firearm—they fire only one bullet each time the trigger is pressed. Unlike automatics (machine guns), they do not fire continuously as long as the trigger is held. … Today in America, most handguns are semi-automatics, as are many long guns, including the best-selling rifle today, the AR-15, the model used in the Newtown shooting. Some of these guns look like machine guns, but they do not function like machine guns.
Should it be renewed, the ban’s effects on gun violence are likely to be small at best and perhaps too small for reliable measurement. [Assault weapons] were rarely used in gun crimes even before the ban.
The old army fought for a nation. The new one fights for vague concepts such as human rights or international law. Its goals are as intangible as those of the ideology it serves. It doesn’t fight actual enemies, but concepts and social problems. It fights against climate change, poverty and obesity. It fights for education, tolerance and the right of everyone to the gender of their choice. It isn’t really the army; it’s the hall monitors of the United Nations, the State Department, NATO and every liberal group on the planet.
“As people of faith we have an obligation to stand together to end gun violence,” Rev. Gary Hall said. “I believe the gun lobby is no match for the cross lobby.”
The Harrisburg Eastern Sports & Outdoor Show, the nation’s largest annual gathering of sporting outfitters, hunters, sportsman, shooters and others, has been postponed indefinitely after facing massive backlash over a new policy banning the display and sale of “modern sporting rifles.” The policy was implemented Monday and just five days later, the show has been cancelled after being scheduled to take place February 2-10 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
I think it is terrible for someone to use a national tragedy for political gain, don’t you? So, when I heard Mr. Obama issued 23 gun control orders in the wake of the Newtown tragedy, I was upset. In school, I was taught executive means to execute laws — not make them. When did that change? Didn’t the president swear an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution? Doesn’t the 2nd Amendment state: “the right for people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed?” Tell me how 23 orders on gun control is not an infringement. Can someone please tell me that? Has King George returned?
“It should be the highest ambition of every American to extend his views beyond himself, and to bear in mind that his conduct will not only affect himself, his country, and his immediate posterity; but that its influence may be co-extensive with the world, and stamp political happiness or misery on ages yet unborn.” –George Washington, letter to the Legislature of Pennsylvania, 1789
(4) And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. New King James Version
Not sure how they will react to this. But in America we would have a discussion about banning guns….Because that would solve the problem…yeah…shows the stupidity of Politicians, progressives and Statists..
Teacher gunned down at school in Narathiwat The Nation, Jnauary 24, 2013
A teacher was fatally shot in front of students at Ban Tanyong School in Narathiwat’s Bacho district yesterday.
Chonthee Charoenchon, 51, was shot in the head twice at the school’s canteen by one of four suspected insurgents who had arrived on two motorcycles.
Chonthee’s keys were snatched from his belt and the attackers made off with the teacher’s Nissan sedan.
The assailants were posing as parents, officials said.
Bacho district chief Anan Boonsamran said that because the assailants knew which car belonged to Chonthee, they had probably been following him for a while.
The attack left the school’s other teachers and the 292 students shaken.
Got Tanks? Somebody does and one wonders where they are going??
I don’t like bullies and neither do most Americans, outside of Chicago and now Washington DC..In my world when a bully comes around, he is given the option of stopping his actions or paying for them…Buck Ofama is such as are his overlords and underlings…Push back. Now!!
If there is one thing we’ve learned over the past few years, it’s that the Chicago machine that now rules Washington will go to any lengths to get what it wants. It will bully you, push you around and ultimately demonize you in to destruction if that is a requirement for continued power.
We’ve seen this for five years now. They knew a rich Capitalist who supported the core of Obamacare could be pinned down and kicked in the head until destruction was present. They wanted Romney the whole time, and they got him. Then, they destroyed him.
Abortion s murder, don’t try to justify it, don’t try to make it reasonable, it is murder…
January 22nd, 2013, is the anniversary of a date that should live in infamy. It was the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion throughout the United States.
At the forefront of the pro-abortion movement stands Planned Parenthood. Margaret Sanger, the organization’s founder, has a reputation as both a racist and eugenicist, but her words on abortion might surprise people. While Dick’s Sporting Goods is busy hiding all the scary black guns they used to sell, and Wal-Mart runs out of ammo, Cabela’s stands there with arms wide open, ready to embrace all the gun owners in a big, manly bear hug.
One day after President Barack Obama won re-election, his Administration agreed to a new round of international negotiations to revive a United Nations-sponsored treaty regulating the international sale of conventional arms, which critics fear could affect the Constitutionally protected right of U.S. citizens to purchase and bear firearms.
But the gun grabbers and anti Freedom crowd are to stupid to realize this…
Rep. Steve Stockman (R-TX) has introduced a bill to repeal the “Gun-Free School Zones Act” of 1990 (updated in 1995) on the grounds that mass shootings at schools have increased five-fold since its passage.
The “Safe Schools Act of 2013″ (H.R.35), co-sponsored by Rep Broun, Paul C. [GA-10] notes that the 1990 “gun-free” law has made schools unsafe because “shooters now know that they can victimize American school campuses with no fear that victims will be armed.”
Despite the withdrawal of at least 183 exhibitors, and 23 scheduled celebrities, British-owned Reed Outdoor Exhibitions refuses to budge on a prohibition of the presence or display of images of the modern sporting rifle at its Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show scheduled for February 2-10 at the State Farm Complex in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Yesterday, Smith & Wesson, the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) joined the growing list of companies withdrawing both their participation and sponsorship of the east’s largest sport and outdoor show. In protest of the Reed Decision, former advertiser MyNortheastOutdoors.com plans to build and host a no-cost “Virtual Sports Show” online for vendors who have pulled out of the show.
Smith & Wesson, a U.S. based leader in firearm manufacturing and design, today announced that the Company will not attend nor will it support or participate in the 2013 Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The announcement comes after the decision of show management company, Reed Exhibitions, to prohibit the display of modern sporting rifles in this year’s event.
Calling it “an important time to take a clear stance on the support of sportsmen and the Second Amendment and the clear link between the two, the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) has joined the companies withdrawing from the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show due to the show’s decision to ban the display of modern sporting rifles.
The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation has announced its withdrawal as an exhibitor and conductor of the elk calling contest from the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show in Pennsylvania. RMEF believes disallowing of legal modern sporting rifles taken by Reed, a British company, are detrimental to the Second Amendment and our right as Americans to bear arms.
This Week in Guns features a panel of hosts from the Firearms Radio Network headed by Jake Challand, they discuss the magazine ban in New York, possible confiscations and the realities of an assault weapon ban.
During his television program on Tuesday night, Glenn Beck brought in gun expert Paul Michael and historian David Barton to dispel a number of myths about firearms. In the middle of Beck’s Dallas studio sat a table full of various types of firearms — all unloaded of course.
Watch Beck and company go over the difference between “assault rifles” and regular rifles and other common misconceptions about guns:
I agree the .22 lr would make and excellent one gun to survive weapon. I would not as to it ‘having’ to be a Ruger. I think there are a number of fine .22 rifles out there..and I own a couple…
Members of Congress—who are about to debate raising the debt ceiling tomorrow—should have paid attention yesterday. The President was very clear that he sees no urgency about reducing the debt and cutting the deficit. In fact, in his second inaugural address, President Barack Obama was honest about his intentions to grow government in order to remake our country along his progressive vision.
It appears it is time to boot the damn Redcoats out again…make it permanent this time!!!
Brits Ban Guns at America’s Largest Gun ShowThe Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show announced last week that America’s largest outdoor sports show will be banning “certain products” from the show. This week it is becoming clear that they might be regretting that announcement.
Reed Exhibitions, the British company promoting and organizing the event said in a statement “this year we have made the decision not to include certain products that in the current climate may attract negative attention that would distract from the strong focus on hunting and fishing at this family-oriented event and possibly disrupt the broader positive experience of our guests.” . . . please click here for the rest of the post →
