Notice in the video how Senator Feinstein takes issue with Senator Cruz when he refers to her “ban” of certain weapons. Even though she titles her bill the “Assault Weapons Ban of 2013,” she insists it doesn’t really “ban” weapons; it exempts specified weapons from Second Amendment protections. In other words, her bill strips away Second Amendment protections from applying to weapons not granted a specific exemption in her bill. Here’s the bottom line: Senator Feinstein and her crony co-sponsor Senator Dick Durbin believe Congress has the power to limit Bill-of-Rights guarantees by exempting certain people, places, acts and things from constitutional provisions, such as the inalienable right to own and bear arms. Make no mistake; this legislation is nothing short of a constitutional coup de grace.

Senator Feinstein wails that her bill would permit, mind you PERMIT, 2,271 guns to remain protected by the Second Amendment, so it isn’t a “ban” at all—it is congressional PERMISSION to own certain guns, an indulgence granted by the almighty Congress. This turns the Constitution on its head and makes a mockery of the Bill of Rights.

The Bill of Rights doesn’t PERMIT people anything; it PROHIBITS governments from doing certain things that limit people’s freedom to behave anyway they see fit. It is the Bill of RIGHTS, not the Bill of PRIVILEGES, not a Bill of PERMISSIONS.

Senator Feinstein, are you smarter than a sixth grader? Obviously not, or you wouldn’t say such stupid things about the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

What will be the practical consequences of enacting S. 51 and selectively ignoring the Second Amendment? PRECRIME—a complete reversal of the ancient rights of Englishmen and Americans where the people are guaranteed there will be no detention without charge of a crime; no charge of a crime without probable cause; no conviction of a crime without a trial; no trial without a jury; no conviction without proof beyond a reasonable doubt; no punishment without conviction; no cruel and unusual punishment and no excessive punishment disproportionate to the crime.

The smoking gun that the Feinstein weapons ban bill is the precursor to PRECRIME is that fact that she refused to expand the bill (S.150) to exempt military veterans because they might be “mentally incapacitated.” She would turn “veteran” into a suspect class of likely criminals thus “exempt” from, which is to say make them ineligible for Second-Amendment guarantees. But the “exemptions” from constitutional rights in Queenie Feinstein’s Wonderland don’t stop there.

Consider how under the Patriot Act the government already decides whether any random person might be a terrorist and thus subject to dodgy anti-terrorist PRECRIME actions, which Senator Feinstein’s weapons-ban bill would only exacerbate. The ACLU reports that the law treats a person as a domestic terrorist if they engage in any “act dangerous to human life” that “appears to be intended to (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination or kidnapping.”

As Senator Rand Paul said when the National Defense Authorization Act was passed last year expanding PRECRIME powers for “suspected terrorists,” the government now claims under the color of law the power to “arrest suspects without a warrant, hold them without trial, deny them access to counsel or admission of bail,” and as a result, “We have shorn the Bill of Rights of its sanctity.”

The Feinstein gun-ban bill is another stab in the heart of the Constitution, a mortal blow to the Bill of Rights.

When the Second Amendment deniers talk about “needs” with respect of guns, what they imply is that guns have a unique purpose: guns kill. Since, say, no one “needs” a so-called “assault rifle” for hunting, it is commonly argued, no one “needs” an assault rifle, for the only purpose of such a weapon is to slaughter.

New polling from Washington Post-ABC News and Pew find that President Obama’s campaign to repress the Second Amendment right “keep and bear arms” is faltering.

On January 22, 2013, Pew released polling results that found the public followed news about Obama’s gun control proposals closely and the reaction is mixed. Only 39 percent think Obama’s proposals are about right, while 31 percent think the proposals go too far. Or, as Politico put it, “39 percent back Obama gun plan.”

Of course there is the usual partisan divide. A 57 percent majority of Republicans say the proposals go too far, and 25 percent say they are about right. A 55 percent majority of Democrats (55%) say the proposals s are about right, and 10 percent say they go too far. Yesterday, Reed Exhibitions announced it was “postponing” the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show. Originally scheduled to begin on February 2 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the nine day show is the country’s largest outdoor show, and regularly attracts as many as 200,000 outdoor enthusiasts. It also puts an estimated $44 million in direct revenues into the region’s economy. Some hoteliers and restaurants say this decision will “make for a very long winter” in their area. Many of the more than 1,000 exhibitors come from out of the region and provide a huge boost to a slow season during the nine-day event. Reed kicked off a controversy when managers announced their decision not to allow any presence of the AR-rifle platform at the Eastern Show. That prohibition even extended to images of the rifle used to solicit raffle ticket sales. In other words, the AR (initially, they called it an “assault rifle”) was a non-starter at what Reed considered a pure hunting and fishing show.

‘It’s a right to shoot tyrants’

Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, is an ardent defender of the Second Amendment and a member of the House Judiciary Committee. He told WND the latest gun-control push from Democrats was totally, and sadly, predictable.

“The people that have stepped forward on this are the gun grabbers. They are the anti-Second Amendment crowd. They are the opportunists that showed up the morning after the terrible tragedy at Sandy Hook,” said King. “So the president is following Rahm Emanuel’s directive. It’s a crisis that he doesn’t want to let go to waste.”

King rejects all of the main Obama priorities on guns and took special aim at the effort to reduce magazine capacity.

“If you’re going to reduce the number of rounds in a clip, where is the constitutional stop for that? Do you do it at 10 rounds? Seven rounds? Six, five, four, one? Or do you just say everything has to be a single shot?” asked King. “When you go down this incremental encroachment upon our Second Amendment rights, I think they probably would not stop at machetes. But that’s the direction they want to go.”

Along with Feinstein scheming to get things passed in the Senate there are anti-gun democrats proposing similar bills in the House:

H.R. 138 would ban transfer or possession of standard-capacity magazines, targeting those that hold more than 10 rounds.

H.R. 142 would ban Internet or mail order ammunition purchases, require a federal license for all ammunition sellers and mandate reporting of “bulk” ammo purchases.

H.R. 21 would ban all private firearms transfers.

H.R. 34 & H.R. 117 are both gun registration bills overriding long standing protections of gun owner privacy.

This is more evidence that these anti-gunners do not care about the Second Amendment. They do not care about our Right to Bear Arms. They are not concerned with the nation’s hunters, sportsmen, or families trying to protect themselves.

The liberals go on TV to discuss gun control to complain that conservatives do not compromise and that “something is better than nothing.” They play the victim like they are just looking for minor gun control to prevent tragedies. They say they will never threaten the use of weapons used for hunting and personal protection. Then they propose something that is so extreme like Feinstein’s proposed ban; of course we would never cooperate or agree with this.
