Here is the latest news from On Point Firearms:
The New Assault Weapons Ban
Less than a fortnight since the unthinkable tragedy in Connecticut, a shameless, callous, and calculated Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) announced she would introduce a new Assault Weapons Ban to Congress in early January 2013. Feinstein’s team has been working on the bill for more than a year, just waiting for the right opportunity. In this case, the "opportunity" was the murder of twenty innocent school children by a heartless, soulless monster.
Aside from the nonsensical banning of scores of weapons for cosmetic features, the bill also calls for mandatory registration of all "grandfathered" weapons. The ARs and AKs you’ve had for years become Class 3 weapons. You’ll be required to register each weapon with the federal government– the same lengthy process currently enjoyed by owners of silencers, machine-guns, and short barrel rifles. In addition to being a huge tax on gun owners ($200/weapon), this "registration" will be the first step to confiscation. But don’t expect a knock at your door anytime soon. Feinstein is playing the long game. Her bill doesn’t allow you to transfer weapons to your descendants. Upon your death, they become property of the state! In a generation or so, all of these weapons will be gone. Well, at least the legal ones will. No doubt, the criminal element will still be armed.
Let’s examine what happens when a government disarms a civilian population:
1911 – Turkey bans civilian ownership of firearms. From 1911 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were murdered.
1928 – Germany bans firearms. From 1939 to 1945, 13 million Jews, gypsies, homosexuals, the mentally ill & others, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
1929 – The Soviet Union bans firearms. From 1929 to 1953, approximately 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were systematically eliminated.
1935 – China bans firearms. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents were unable to defend themselves and were killed.
1956 – Cambodia bans firearms. From 1975 to 1977, one million "educated" people unable to defend themselves, were murdered.
1964 – Guatemala bans firearms. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and killed.
1970 – Uganda bans firearms. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were exterminated. In one infamous incident, the habitants of a small village took refuge in a church, where every man, woman and child was massacred with guns and machetes as they were unable to physically defend themselves.
1995 – 6,000 Bosnian Muslims were massacred at Srebrenica in the ironically named "UN safe area" after having been disarmed first (a process aided by the UN).
Feinstein’s Assault Weapon Ban won’t make our school children or moviegoers safe. It won’t keep guns out of the hands of criminals. However, it will launch a well-orchestrated plan to the completely disarm the US civilian population, disassemble our 2nd Amendment (among others), and end the American Experiment as we know it.
Here are a few things you can do to help stop this full-scale assault on our core freedoms. First, contact your Congressmen. You can do it via your Senator and Representative’s websites:
Second, you can support the NRA: the only voice we that is strong enough to fight the anti-gun special interest groups.
Finally, you must warn your family, friends, and neighbors that once the 2nd Amendment falls, the others are next.
The freedoms that we currently enjoy will no longer exist under a tyrannical government that has disarmed its population. We need to stand together and defend this fundamental American birthright. Over the last two centuries of this country’s history, thousands upon thousands of American patriots have died in service so that we can enjoy theses freedoms. We must not allow a fringe minority of narrow elitists change the fabric of our America. Stay strong and God bless you and yours.
