Media BiASSed:

1. Study: TV News Is Obsessed With Trump-Russia Probe

A Media Research Center study of every broadcast network evening newscast in the five weeks since the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller on May 17 found a whopping 353 minutes of airtime devoted to the Russia probe, or 55 percent of all coverage of the Trump presidency during those weeks. The study also found one-third (34%) of the networks’ Russia coverage was based on anonymous sources, some of which later proved erroneous.

2. Dowd: Trump’s the ‘One Person That Questions His Legitimacy the Most’

Monday on ABC’s Good Morning America, the network’s political analyst Matthew Dowd accused President Trump of having an “obsession” with Russia “hacking” the presidential election. Without a hint of irony, Dowd added that Trump was the “one person” that “questioned Trump’s legitimacy the most,” seemingly forgetting that he himself has questioned Trump’s legitimacy over and over again on GMA since November.

3. ‘There’s No Camera On, Jim!’ Showboating CNN’s Acosta Yells at Spicer Over Press Access

At Monday’s audio-only and photos-only White House press briefing, CNN senior White House correspondent Jim Acosta continued to make a fool out of himself, melting down and screaming at press secretary Sean Spicer over the current set-up for briefings. Acosta first interrupted after a female reporter didn’t get her question answered. When he yelled at Spicer to answer her question, Spicer lobbed some A shade at Acosta: “There’s no camera on, Jim.”

4. CBS Repeatedly Frets That Pelosi Isn’t Up to the Job of Stopping Trump

Are the long, liberal knives of journalists out for Nancy Pelosi? The Democratic Minority Leader on Monday appeared on CBS This Morning and endured repeated questions about whether she is up to the job of facing down Donald Trump and the Republicans. After playing a montage of anti-Pelosi Democrats, Charlie Rose reminded, “You’ve been losing special elections, four of them.”

5. Dem Calls Court Conservatives ‘Horsemen of the Apocalypse,’ Andrea Mitchell Just Sits There

Despite all the talk of civility in the wake of the congressional shooting on June 14, on Monday, MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell didn’t bat an eye as Democratic Hawaii Senator Mazie Hirono launched into a tirade against conservative members of the Supreme Court. The left-wing lawmaker actually accused the justices of ushering in the end of the world.

6. Never Mind: Networks Yawn as Bernie Sanders Is Under FBI Investigation

A 2016 presidential contender is now under investigation by the FBI? Journalists should be interested. Oh, never mind. It’s liberal Bernie Sanders. The networks have yawned at the news that Sanders and his wife Jane are being targeted by the FBI for possibly inappropriately urging a bank to approve a loan of Mrs. Sanders, then the President of a Vermont college.

7. ABC, CBS Omit Win for Religious Liberty in the Supreme Court, NBC Downplays

When the Supreme Court of the United States released its latest batch of rulings on Monday, most eyes were on the court allowing partial implementation of the President’s travel ban on six Middle Eastern countries. The Big Three Networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) spent a lot of time hyper focusing on that ruling and the CBO report of the Senate health care bill. There was also a big win for religious liberty that got omitted from the reports of both ABC and CBS, while NBC simply tacked it onto the end of their travel ban report.
