Climate change could kill thousands of Americans each year with a rise in global temperatures of just 3 degrees ‘triggering a surge in deaths by drowning, assault and suicide’

Researchers in the US and UK analyzed data to predict how climate change might increase death rates globally  
An increase of 2.7F (1.5C) could lead to 1,600 injury deaths per year and a rise of 3.5F (2C) could lead to 2,100 fatal injuries
Most were from transportation accidents, drownings, assaults and suicide
Young men between ages 15 and 34, and in California, Florida and Texas, were at the highest risk
Experts say warmer temperatures lead to more people being outside, more swimming and more drinking alcohol, meaning a higher risk of accidental deaths
