In just two days, the three network morning and evening shows deluged viewers with over 25 minutes of coverage (17 stories) on the indictment of Texas Governor Rick Perry. These programs made sure to speculate as to whether the controversy could “end any chance” for the Republican in 2016. The indictment came after Perry lobbied for Texas District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg to resign after her drunk driving conviction. From Saturday morning through Monday morning, CBS offered the most amount of coverage, five stories over nine minutes and 14 seconds. Over the same period, ABC produced six segments (or eight minutes and 48 seconds). NBC delivered six segments for of seven minutes and 37 seconds.
In the wake of the “big three” networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) devoting 25 minutes to the indictment of Governor Rick Perry (R-TX) in the story’s first two days, ABC’s World News with Diane Sawyer continued the network obsession with the potential 2016 presidential candidate. On Monday, August 18, anchor Diane Sawyer introduced a report on Perry by proclaiming “back here at home to Texas and a kind of high noon for Texas Governor Rick Perry facing indictment, but defiant again today.” Jim Avila did his best to discredit the governor’s argument: “Perry’s defense team played the tape again for reporters today and on radio late this afternoon the governor vowed to expose what he calls a political farce despite the fact that both the judge who appointed the special prosecutor and the special prosecutor himself are Bush appointed Republicans.”
On Monday’s Morning Joe on MSNBC, MSNBC contributor and Managing Editor of Bloomberg Politics Mark Halperin slammed the indictment of Texas Governor Rick Perry (R) by an Austin, Texas-area grand jury for threatening to veto funding for a Democratic District Attorney’s public integrity unit after she was convicted of a DUI as “the stupidest thing I’ve seen, I think, in my entire career.” Expanding further on his opinion, Halperin added: “I hope some judge throws it out right away. It’s not just kind of funny and ridiculous, but it’s an infringement on individual liberty. He’s got a First Amendment right just cause he’s governor of Texas and I think it’s – like you said, it’s easy to joke about this, but this is a serious thing. It is ridiculous that he was indicted for this. Ridiculous.”
On Sunday’s Reliable Sources on CNN, Dr. Gail Saltz blasted Fox News contributor Dr. Keith Ablow for his jab at Michelle Obama’s weight: “To be criticizing people, kind of, willy-nilly is – I don’t think meets the Hippocratic Oath.” She played up how Dr. Ablow previously hinted that Vice President Biden might have dementia, and claimed that the psychiatrist violated “American psychiatric guidelines, which is not to diagnose someone that you have never met.”
MSNBC’s Harris-Perry Compares Rick Perry to Segregationists Trying to Stop Integration of Public Schools
MSNBC Weekend MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry her weekend platform to disgustingly compare Governor Rick Perry (R-TX) and his decision to sent National Guard troops to the border to that of southern Democrats blocking African American children from integrating into previously all-white public schools: “Rick Perry was preceded in his call to send armed troops to confront children by Arkansas Governor Orval Faubas. He, of course, called the National Guard to stop the Little Rock Nine from their first day of school at Central High.”
A common theme among liberal journalists is to blame a “do-nothing Congress” when liberal policies fail to become law. Such was the case during a panel discussion on Sunday’s Meet the Press when moderator David Gregory and his entire panel lamented the lack of legislative action on Capitol Hill, mainly in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives. Gregory summed up the panel’s sentiment when he bemoaned how “until the incentives are changed, a desire for some compromise or even meeting challenges that Americans want dealt with, will not get done. Because nobody will give the other side even a small win in this climate.”
Meet the Press moderator David Gregory did his best to condemn Congressman Paul Ryan’s new anti-poverty proposal during an interview on Sunday. The NBC host played a clip of Ryan from 2013 in which he criticized a “dependency culture” in America which Gregory interpreted as not sounding “like there’s a lot of sympathy for people you think need the government’s help. What you seem to be saying is that people have a problem with their own dependency here the government is only furthering.”
In the wake of the Newtown shooting, the networks highlighted President Obama’s call for more gun control to rein in violence. However, NBC and CBS on Thursday night and Fridaymorning allowed a mere 43 seconds for the story of a hero doctor who used his own firearm to shoot a crazed gunman in Pennsylvania. Good Morning America reporter Ron Claiborne covered the story in a full report. The ABC journalist recounted, “…A psychiatric patient with a criminal past got into an argument with his caseworker, opened fire on her allegedly and then the doctor pulled out his gun and shot the gunman.”
While all three networks denounced the shelling of a U.N. school in Gaza on Thursday, NBC, ABC and CBS all failed to report on similar U.N. schools in the war-torn territory being used to hide Hamas rockets. As Fox News reported on Tuesday, “The U.N. Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) said the rockets were found in between two other UNRWA schools that are being used to host 1,500 displaced people.” On Wednesday’s Special Report, anchor Bret Baier read a statement from the office of the U.N. Secretary General condemning Hamas for the action. Panelist Charles Krauthammer blasted the international organization: “The U.N. workers, UNRWA, have collaborated with Hamas for years and years. They know that there are missiles in the schools, in the hospitals, in the mosques, and they know what’s going to happen. Kids will be killed and that’s going to be on television.”
Citing the 45th anniversary last week of the Apollo 11 landing on the moon, Bill Maher on Friday night sneered: “I always hear that the moon landing was the last great thing that America did. I think the last great thing America did was giving health care to 30 million people.” That prompted a roar of applause from the Los Angeles audience for Maher’s July 25 Real Time show on HBO, and after it died down a bit, Maher insisted: “I find that to be so much more of a significant achievement than landing on the moon.

Ya think? “I’m a little concerned that things have gotten a little — a little out of whack. I think we can do a better job than we have. We can reform those regulations, reform those guidelines to better reflect that balance.” –Attorney General Eric Holder
No doubt: “I’m proud of the work that I’ve done.” –Eric Holder
Non Compos Mentis: “I’m a Christian. But Muslims are misunderstood. Intentionally misunderstood. We should all be more like them. They make sense, especially with their children. There is no other group like the Black Muslims, who put so much effort into teaching children the right things, they don’t smoke, they don’t drink or overindulge in alcohol, they protect their women, they command respect. And what do these other people do? They complain about them, they criticize them. We’d be a better world if we emulated them.” –Bill Cosby
Government investing for the win: “We’re going to have a few more bankruptcies. Sometimes it’ll be like Solyndra where you get 3 cents on the dollar. Others, it’ll be 80 cents, or something like that. If you look at what got started and what became bankable, was it successful? Yes. We were more successful than Wall Street. So come on, guys.” –former Secretary of Energy Steven Chu
Obama’s America: “That fundamental American promise that so many of us grew up with — that no matter where you start out, with hard work, you can build a decent life for yourself and an even better life for your kids — that promise unfortunately is no longer within reach for too many families in our country.” –Michelle Obama
The 2nd protects the rest..
Buck Ofama follow the Law? Like that is going to happen!!
The self-made civil rights leaders of today, such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, have left off their Bibles and their morals, as they debase themselves and reap nothing but mockery and reproach. Let me contrast the original pledge with the modern version of the pledge, as demonstrated by their actions:
- Meditate on the media and anything but the teachings of Jesus.
- Civil disobedience to just laws, through force, in hopes of an unjust victory.
- Walk and talk in the manner of thuggery/pride!
- Play the race card as you are enslaved through deception by a godless administration daily.
- Sacrifice the needs of others, gain is the goal.
- Send threats to those who disagree with you.
- Seek to have it your way at all costs, lie if necessary.
- Use fear and force.
- Strive to take from others because you deserve what you take!
- Follow the directions of an un-Constitutional and unlawful administration.
