I attend a church, along with my family of course, that utilizes contemporary music during our praise and worship time every Sunday.
I enjoy it. It brings life, excitement and is uplifting.
I was raised Catholic, in whcih heavy organ music and songs which were a bit, staid and did nothing in my view. After I married I began attending Lutheran sevices and well not a lot of difference other then they sang EVERY verse!! EVERY single one!! Which was a bit of a change as most of the time in the Catholic Church the firs t verse was song and that was it.
So the first time we went to a service at our current church, I thought we had stumbled into a Christian Rock Concert. Services were being and still are held in the High School Auditorium.
But it was like rock and roll or something and I at first was left wondering a bit.
But I grew to like it and enjoy it.
So when I read this post over at BikeBubba’sBits I thought about it an bit and realized that our Pastor and Worship Minister preach and use examples form the Bible about how our style of worshop and praise is all good. Our Pastor preaches and teaches from the Bible.
We don’t cut and paste. The WHole Bible is used as written no “well this makes me “uncomfortable” and maybe should ignore it etc.
Our music is the same way and YES we occasionally go old school, hymn style, occasionally!
But each week our music is tied into our service.
Is all good.
