If Lester Holt Really Wanted to Be Fair and Balanced…

NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt, at Monday night’s debate, repeatedly cross-examined and fact-checked GOP nominee Donald Trump. However, for Hillary Clinton there was not one single challenge to anything she said. And there wasn’t a hard-hitting question to the Democratic nominee on any of her controversies whether it be Benghazi, the Clinton Foundation or the e-mails.

Nets Hammer Pence: Did Trump ‘Lie’? Does He Not Pay Taxes? Following Monday night’s presidential debate, Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence visited all three network morning shows on Tuesday and was repeatedly hammered by hosts over Donald Trump’s debate performance. Hostile questions accusing Trump of everything from lying to tax evasion were hurled at the Indiana governor.

Networks Give Kaine Chance to Boost Hillary and Blast Trump, But Grill Pence On Tuesday’s morning news shows, each of the three network anchors interviewed the two vice presidential candidates, Tim Kaine and Mike Pence, about their running mate’s debate performance Monday night. But instead of asking the candidates similar questions, the anchors coaxed Clinton’s VP Kaine and grilled Trump’s VP Pence.

BBC’s Kay Touts Holt’s Question to Trump on Hillary’s Looks; Hits ‘Malpractice’ of Little E-Mail Time PBS’s Charlie Rose program aired live for much of Monday night’s show recapping the first presidential debate and BBC’s Katty Kay credited debate moderator Lester Holt for his “dog whistle politics” question to Donald Trump about Hillary Clinton’s looks but hammered the “political malpractice” of Clinton barely having to discuss her e-mail scandal.

NY Times Mad at Trump for Playing Race Card on Hillary, as They Play It Against Him The first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton is in the books, and the front page of the New York Times registered an amazingly slanted front-page “news analysis” by Michael Barbaro and Matt Flegenheimer. They sternly rebuked Trump for daring to suggest Hillary Clinton had once been insensitive about race:"No amount of practice, it seemed, could fully prepare her — or perhaps anyone — for Donald J. Trump’s hurricane of factual distortion, taunting interruptions and blustery generalities."

Andrea Mitchell: ‘Very Confident’ Hillary ‘Feeling Her Oats’ After Debate During a live report in MSNBC’s 12 p.m. ET hour, as part of Hillary Clinton’s traveling press corps, Andrea Mitchell gushed over how pleased the campaign was with the Democratic nominee’s debate performance: “Well, you can imagine they feel very confident….There was applause by her staff when she boarded [the plane]. We’re in the back of the plane, as you well know, so we heard that from the front.”

Networks Silent on Accusation Trump Used Cocaine Before Debate The same liberal networks who sprinted to dismiss concerns about Hillary Clinton’s health as part of a “wacky strategy” by Donald Trump, turned a blind eye Tuesday to similar accusations made about the GOP nominee. Following the first presidential debate Monday night, Clinton surrogate Governor Howard Dean tweeted that he suspects Trump had a cocaine habit and used it before the debate. He stuck by that accusation Tuesday on MSNBC stating that Trump has, “a signature of people who use cocaine.”

Hillary Complained About Graffiti on Backdrop of Debate Stage – The Barbed Wire

NEW YORK – During the walk-through before the first presidential debate, Hillary Clinton pointed out something she didn’t think was appropriate on an American debate stage. She asked producers why there needed to be walls covered with graffiti behind both podiums on the big night.

“Don’t get me wrong,” she said, “The lettering and work that went into that graffiti showed real talent by the artist. But what does it have to do with politics? It just seems oddly out of place.” Clinton’s staff were equally dumbfounded, unable to explain the graffiti.

You Have an Anointing

"As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit – just as it has taught you, remain in him" (1 John 2:27).

Do you know your anointing? An anointing is a gift that functions easily when it is operating in you to benefit others and the Kingdom of God. If one has to "work it up" one has probably gone outside one’s anointing.

One area that I have a God-given anointing is in networking. I have never sought to develop such an anointing. But I know a LOT of people. Despite being an introvert by nature, God has connected me with people all around the world. Many times people call me about something and my natural response is, "Oh, you need to contact so and so. He can help you with that." A mentor once said to me, "Your inheritance is in relationships." What he was saying is that my anointing is in relationships and networking.

Where do you move naturally in your life? What do you do that you don’t have to work at it? Chances are that is your anointing. God wants you to walk in the anointing he has given to you.

Why is it that while the same things can happen to us all, they may not have the same effect upon us all? The same thing happening to two different people may have entirely different effects. Why should this be so? It depends not so much on the circumstances, but on the ""inner-stances"" – or, in other words, our inner attitudes. As someone has said, ""What life does to us in the long run depends on what life finds in us."" Life’s blows can make some people querulous and bitter, others they sweeten and refine; the same events, but with opposite effects. The Gospels tell us that there were three crosses set up on Calvary on the first Good Friday. The same event happened to three different people, but look at the different results. One thief complained and blamed Jesus for not saving Himself and them; the other thief recognized his own unworthiness, repented of it and found an open door to Paradise. Jesus, of course, saw it as the climax of His earthly achievements and made it the fulcrum on which He moved the world. What counts, therefore, is not so much what happens to us, but what we do with it. The same sunshine falling on two different plants can cause one to wither and die, while the other will blossom and flourish. And why? It all depends on the response the plants make. Although, of course, they both need water, one plant is more suited to hot sunshine than the other, and therefore responds with more life and growth, while the other shrivels up and dies.

Prayer:
Gracious heavenly Father, write this precept upon my heart so that I shall never forget it: it’s not so much what happens to me, but what I do with it that is important. Thank You, Father. Amen
