GOP SENATOR SCOTT JENSEN BETRAYS MN GUN OWNERS

During the 2016 elections, Scott Jensen sought the endorsement of the Minnesota Gun Owners PAC, pledging in his candidate survey to not support gun control like universal background checks – and that he would stand strongly with gun owners to support and defend the Second Amendment.

For perspective, here’s a couple of clips from his 2016 candidate survey:

When he accepted the endorsement of our PAC, the Minnesota Gun Owners Political Action Committee, Senator Jensen wrote this:

At 10:00 am today, Senator Jensen will be introduced as the co-author of TWO GUN CONTROL BILLS in the Minnesota Senate.

The first bill is a copy of Senator Latz’s Universal Background Checks / Universal Registration legislation – a bill that was handcrafted by Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown.

The second bill creates a crime for failing to report a lost or stolen firearm – turning the victim of a crime into a criminal for not reporting the loss of personal property.

The other co-authors on this legislation are Senator Paul Anderson, Senator Matt Little, and Senator Susan Kent.

Senator Jensen is so proud of what he’s doing that he gave an interview with Minnesota Public Radio over the weekend – having never once reached out to our organization.

Senator Jensen has clearly decided to stand shoulder to shoulder with Senator Latz’s gun control agenda rather than keeping his promises to Minnesota’s law-abiding gun owners.

Senator Jensen’s betrayal cannot go unchallenged.

TAKE ACTION TODAY:

  • Call Senator Jensen at 651-296-4837. Tell him that you expect him to stand by his campaign promises in 2016 and remove himself as a co-author of this gun control legislation.
  • E-Mail Senator Jensen via his web form and reinforce your comments left via phone.
  • Call your Senator and tell them you expect them to stand strongly with gun owners – and against further gun control legislation. You can find your Senator at this link if needed.
