For 20 years now, a well-meaning law professor has been peddling the fiction that the Second Amendment – guaranteeing the right of Americans to keep and bear arms – was adopted to protect slavery. He first proposed this in a 1998 law review article and trotted it out again in a recent New York Times op-ed.

The latest round started with a restaurant throwing out the President’s Press Secretary because of who she worked for.  Okay, there prerogative.  I believe in freedom of association, including the right not to associate with people you don’t want to.  And since I actually mean it, that means I agree that it also applies to people I disagree with.  Bad business move maybe, but their prerogative.

However, then comes that idiot Maxine Waters (but who’s the more stupid?  The idiot in office, or the idiots who keep putting her there?) using this case as some rallying cry, to wit:

  Over the weekend Sarah Sanders was asked to leave the Red Hen restaurant because the owner of the establishment is an avid anti-Trumper. It has also been reported that the owner of the Red Hen followed Sarah Sanders into another restaurant to continue the harassment.

  Maxine Waters appeared not only to condone the actions of the restaurant owner, but called on others to harass Trump officials whenever they get the chance.

“If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them! And you tell them that they are not welcome, anymore, anywhere.”

  That certainly can be seen as a call to violence and we have already seen the Democrats’ rhetoric lead to violence, and almost to death, on a softball field in Washington DC during…
