ABC Ignores Lois Lerner E-Mails Slamming Conservative ‘Crazies;’ CBS and NBC Notice

 

ABC’s World News stood out as the sole Big Three evening newscast on Wednesday to not cover the release of Lois Lerner’s e-mails, where the former top IRS official slammed conservatives as “a**holes” and “crazies.” Instead, the news program devoted full reports to the water main that burst on the campus of UCLA and the controversy over usage charges on cell phone bills. By contrast, NBC Nightly News and CBS Evening News on Wednesdayboth set aside about two minutes each of air time to Lerner’s “salty language,” as NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell put it. (The broadcast networks have a long record of spiking the IRS scandal.)

 

 ABC’s Harris Falsely Hits Sarah Palin as the ‘Woman Who Says She Can See Russia from Her House’

 

Nightline co-anchor Dan Harris on Monday night mocked Sarah Palin for her new internet channel and falsely identified the conservative as “the woman who says she can see Russia from her house.” No, she didn’t. It was Tina Fey on Saturday Night Live who uttered this line.

 

Jorge Ramos Hits Hillary from the Left on Immigration: ‘Do You Think You Have a Latino Problem?’

 

In an interview with Hillary Clinton aired Tuesday on his Fusion show America, anchor Jorge Ramos repeatedly pressed the potential 2016 Democratic presidential candidate from the left on the ongoing illegal immigration crisis, demanding: “Do you think you have a Latino problem?…I’m saying it because recently you said about the Central American children coming to the United States that we have to send them back.” After Clinton argued for only allowing children seeking legitimate asylum to stay, Ramos cited one of her possible 2016 rivals: “But if you deport them, Governor of Maryland Martin O’Malley said that if you send them back, you would send them back to certain death. Do you agree that if we deport some of these children that they’re – it’s a death sentence for them?”

 

Geraldo: ‘Shame On Drudge’ for Trying to ‘Stir Up Civil War’ with His Border Crisis Stories

 

On Monday, Geraldo Rivera barked at his fellow FNC hosts for using the term “illegals” around him. On Wednesday, he amped up his attacks on conservatives when, on his WABC radio show, he accused Matt Drudge of “doing his best to stir up a civil war” because he was posting so many border crisis stories. Rivera also attacked him on Twitter: “Shame on Drudge. His authoritative website has gone hysterical on issue of immigrant children. 14 stories like ‘Could Ebola sneak across?’”

 

NBC Touts Vermonters Pining for Single-Payer Health Care Like Canadian Neighbors

 

In a report for Sunday’s NBC Meet the Press, correspondent Kevin Tibbles highlighted Vermont’s effort “to push into unchartered waters and go further than ObamaCare.” He explained the left-wing proposal: “Vermont’s Democratic state government says it can deliver health care more efficiently and for less to every one of its 600,000 residents equally. All paid for with tax dollars to the tune of some $2 billion a year.” Tibbles noted how, “Doctors bills would go to the state government, essentially eliminating the need for people to purchase private insurance.” He then posed the question: “A solution to America’s healthcare crisis or the road to bankruptcy for Vermont?”

 

NBC: Firefighters Battling California Wildfires Are On ‘Front Lines of Climate Change’

 

Not wanting to let a good crisis go to waste, Tuesday’s NBC Nightly News exploited California wildfires to push climate change. Correspondent Miguel Almaguer declared: “The fire season not just expensive, but historic. Nationwide so far this year, more than 32,000 wildfires have burned. 1.6 million acres charred, most of them in the west. Feeding the fires, drought crippling 60% of the west….Crews call this the front lines of climate change, a longer more destructive fire season.” Introducing the story, anchor Brian Williams warned: “In the American west tonight, a huge wildfire is burning in Yosemite National Park. One of more than 200 of them firing up in just this last week in California alone as this drought emergency continues to get worse.”

 

Stunner on The View: You Want to Protect Yourself Ladies? ‘Get a Gun in Your Home!’

 

Something really remarkable happened on Tuesday’s edition of The View. Three out of the four panelists actually came out strongly in favor of a woman’s right to protect herself and her children with a gun! The one panelist who didn’t want a gun in the house? ABC Good Morning America co-host Lara Spencer. The three who favored firearm ownership (Sherri Shepherd, Jenny McCarthy and FNC’s Juliet Huddy) all shared the real world threats that prompted them to go get a gun.

Networks Refuse to Report Latest IRS Scandal Revelations

 

The saga of Lois Lerner’s missing emails took a bunch of twists and turns this past week, but you wouldn’t know that if you only got your news from the Big Three (ABC, CBS, NBC) networks. On July 21, it was reported that even more IRS officials had their hard drives crash on them, including employees who “routinely corresponded” with Lerner. What a coincidence! On that same day it was revealed that a top IRS official was uncertain if backup tapes of Lerner’s lost emails still existed. The next day the story changed again when it was reported that Lerner’s hard drive was only “scratched” and the data was recoverable.

 

CBS and NBC Continue to Ignore Federal Judge Overturning D.C. Gun Ban   On Saturday, July 26, federal judge Frederick J. Scullin Jr. ruled that Washington D.C.’s ban on carrying a gun in public was unconstitutional and since the decision the “big three” networks have remained virtually silent on the Second Amendment victory. BeginningSaturday night and continuing through the evening of Monday, July 28 only ABC’s Good Morning America has acknowledged the ruling. ABC’s Ron Claiborne gave the story a scant 18 seconds on Sunday morning whereas CBS and NBC’s morning and evening newscasts, as well as ABC’s World News have ignored the story altogether.

Geraldo: Every Time You Say ‘Illegals’ It’s Like Fingernails on a Blackboard!   Geraldo Rivera hates it whenever any one around him refers to people illegally crossing the border as “illegals.” On Monday’s edition of Outnumbered he challenged FNC’s Ainsley Earhardt when she dared to use that phrase in his presence. Rivera barked: “Every time you say ‘illegals,’ it’s like fingernails on a black board!”

CBS’s Rose Allows Hamas Leader to Compare Palestinian Terrorism to U.S. Defeating British in Revolutionary War   CBS This Morning aired multiple excerpts on Monday morning of co-host Charlie Rose’s interview with Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal, that will air on Rose’s PBS show on Mondaynight. In the excerpts that were aired, Rose allowed him to compare the Palestinian people in their fighting with Israel to Americans waging war with the British in the America Revolution. Further, Meshaal denied any possibility that, in his mind, a state of Israel could co-exist with any Palestinian state. After dimissing a quote from former President Bil Clinton about Hamas having a strategy “designed to force Israel to kill their own civilians so the rest of the world will condemn them,” Meshaal launched into into a ridiculous comparison between the Palestinians fighting the Israelis and the Americans fighting the British during the American Revolution: “You in America, the American Revolution, was it peaceful? Did you not kick the British out?”

NBC Reporter Frets Over Hamas Getting ‘Nothing’ in Cease-Fire With Israel   On Monday’s NBC Today, chief foreign correspondent Richard Engel worried that Hamas was not getting enough out of a temporary cease-fire agreement with Israel: “What is Hamas getting in return? So far, nothing. No deal, no immediate lifting of the closure of the Gaza Strip. Just a reprieve from Israel’s assault that has flattened entire Gaza neighborhoods and killed more than a thousand Palestinians, many of them civilians, many of them children.”Engel continued to outline the demands from the Palestinian terrorist organization: “The war could easily escalate again. Hamas wants an agreement to end the fighting, not for Israel to unilaterally scale back the assault on its own terms.”

CBS Promotes Obama Fist Bump In Wake of New Study on Reducing Spread of Germs   On Monday night, the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley used a new study showing that high fives are five times more hygienic than shaking hands as a way of promoting President Obama’s use of the fist bump. Fill-in anchor James Brown, who hosts The NFL Today on CBS, gushed at how “in his line of work, President Obama does a healthy amount of handshaking but a study out today says high fives will be more hygienic. They transfer only about half as many bacteria.”
