In less than a week, the House Judiciary Committee will vote to advance a measure that would ban nearly all semi-automatic rifles in the United States.
This bill – HR 1296 – is intended to do one thing, and one thing only: render you and your family more unsafe against criminals, would-be mass shooters and the government.
This legislation – which is purported to only ban non-existent “assault weapons” – is extremely misleading and extraordinarily overbroad.
HR 1296 would ban any semi-automatic rifle or pistol that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and features a:
- Pistol grip
- Forward grip
- A folding, telescoping, or detachable stock
- Threaded barrel
- Barrel shroud
- Other so-called “evil features”
What’s more, HR 1296 – if advanced – would go directly against the will of the American people.
The fact of the matter is, tens of millions of American patriots oppose an “Assault Weapons” ban.
But that won’t stop 41 politicians in the House Judiciary Committee from ignoring your voice and the voices of a majority of Americans so they can ban and seize your guns.
And they’re going to do it THIS WEDNESDAY!
We’ve seen this before, as recently as the beginning of this month, when the same committee held a sham vote to advance a ban on your magazines.
Despite opposition from Republican members of the committee, Democrats ignored both the Constitution and common sense in order to send the magazine ban toward a full House vote.
And unless you take immediate action, they’re going to do it again to ban your rifles!
Therefore, you must act swiftly to stop the House Judiciary Committee from eviscerating your rights!
